Remove the deep back muscles, which are located between transverse process [upper probe] and spinous processes [lower probe] of the C3 to L5 vertebrae . Identify several spinous processes in the lower thoracic or lumbar region and note the supraspinous and interspinous ligaments, which connect individual spinous processes (Figure 2.2). In the cervical region, identify the ligamentum nuchae which attaches to the external occipital protuberance and spinous processes (C1 to C7).Links and References:
