Step 6. Pectoralis Minor Muscle

Identify the borders of the pectoralis minor muscle (Figure 4.4). Then, cut it near its attachments to the ribs and reflect the muscle superiorly towards its attachment to the coracoid process . Again, identify the medial pectoral nerve which enters the deep surface and innervates the pectoralis minor muscle. Pectoral branches of the thoracoacromial artery accompany these nerves and supply the pectoralis major muscle and pectoralis minor muscle.
