(1 of 2) Examine the anterior wall of the axilla. Review the dissection of the pectoral region ( see Laboratory Four). Reflect the skin and pectoralis major muscle  laterally to reveal the pectoralis minor muscle.
Again identify the lateral and medial pectoral nerves. The lateral and medial pectoral nerves are named for the cord of the brachial plexus from which they arise and not their relationship to the pectoralis minor muscle. The lateral pectoral nerve is located superior and medial to the pectoralis minor muscle, and the medial pectoral nerve is located inferior and lateral to the pectoralis minor muscle.Links and References:
