Identify the brachial artery [two probes] in the medial aspect of the anterior compartment of the arm. As was seen in step 7, the brachial artery parallels the course of the median nerve [two probes]. It is the only major nerve to cross anterior to the brachial artery. As was described in the dissection of the axilla ( see Laboratory Five), the axillary artery becomes the brachial artery at the inferior border of teres major muscle [scissors indicate the distal part of the axillary artery which lies anterior to the tendon of latissimus dorsi muscle and teres major muscle].Links and References: |
