In the cubital fossa, identify the portion of the median nerve which passes distally in the plane separating the intermediate and deep flexor muscles. Locate the muscular branches arising from the medial side of the median nerve. These branches supply all the flexor muscles of the forearm with the exception of flexor carpi ulnaris muscle and the medial one-half of flexor digitorum profundus muscle. The latter "1 and 1/2 muscles" are innervated by the ulnar nerve which will be studied later in this exercise.
