Next, the flexors of the forearm will be considered. They are arranged in three layers in the anterior compartment of the forearm. The superficial layer of muscles (flexor carpi ulnaris, flexor carpi radialis, pronator teres, and palmaris longus) arise from the deep fascia and the medial epicondyle of the humerus. The intermediate muscle layer (flexor digitorum superficialis) and deep muscle layer (flexor digitorum profundus, flexor pollicis longus, and pronator quadratus) arise mainly from the radius and ulna.
