• first compartment - tendons of the abductor pollicis longus muscle and the extensor pollicis brevis muscle,
• second compartment - tendons of the extensor carpi radialis longus muscle and the extensor carpi radialis brevis muscle,
• third compartment - tendon of the extensor pollicis longus muscle,
• fourth compartment - tendons of the extensor digitorum communis muscle and extensor indicis muscle [the extensor retinaculum in this region has been cut],
• fifth compartment - tendons of the extensor digiti minimi muscle, and
• sixth compartment - tendon of the extensor carpi ulnaris muscle.
