Finally, identify the adductor magnus muscle. It consists of two parts:
- adductor magnus muscle, adductor part [retractor on the left] that has horizontally oriented fibers and attaches to the linea aspera of the femur
- adductor magnus muscle, hamstring part that has more vertically oriented fibers and attaches to the adductor tubercle
The adductor magnus has a wide origin which begins at the inferior pubic ramus and runs posteriorly along the outer surface of the ramus of the ischium to the ischial tuberosity. Links and References:
