The portion of the parietal pleura adjacent to the diaphragm [cross-section] is called diaphragmatic pleura. Identify the sickle-shaped costodiaphragmatic recess along the line of reflection between the costal pleura and diaphragmatic pleura. Use your fingers or a probe to define the extent of the right costodiaphragmatic recess  and left costodiaphragmatic recess. Links and References:
