The soft palate forms the posterior one-third of the palate. It is composed of the following muscles:
- levator veli palatini muscle, cross- section
- tensor veli palatini muscle, cross-section
- palatoglossus muscle
- palatopharyngeus muscle, cross-section
- uvulae muscle
