Inferior to the arcuate line, the posterior layer of the rectus sheath is much thinner. It is only composed of the thin transparent transversalis fascia which lies anterior to
the subperitoneal fat and parietal peritoneum of the anterior abdominal wall, (Figure 35.5A and Figure 35.5B).
