Identify five folds of the peritoneum located on the inner surface of the anterior abdominal wall (Figure 36.3): The median umbilical fold runs superiorly from the apex of the bladder to the umbilicus. This fold is formed by the underlying median umbilical ligament. It is a remnant of the fetal urachus. The paired medial umbilical folds pass from the pelvis to the umbilicus and cover the underlying medial umbilical ligaments. Links and References: |
