Reflect the stomach superiorly and identify the structures which contact its posterior surface. Remember that the stomach and lesser omentum form the major part of the anterior wall of the lesser peritoneal sac. Remove the parietal peritoneum which form the posterior wall of the lesser peritoneal sac and identify the structures that form the stomach bed: the head, body and tail of the pancreas, a portion of the left kidney, the left suprarenal gland, and the left crus of the diaphragm.Links and References:
