The clitoris contain erectile tissue. The erectile tissue of the crura of the clitoris is called the corpus cavernosum. The right and left crura form the root of the clitoris, which attaches to the inferior surface of the urogenital diaphragm and ischiopubic rami (Figure 41.6).
