(1 of 2) Carefully open the inferior fascia of the urogenital diaphragm and identify the structures inside the deep perineal pouch.
The superior and inferior borders of the deep perineal pouch are formed by the superior and inferior fascia of the urogenital diaphragm, respectively. The deep perineal pouch extends laterally to the ischiopubic rami, and anteriorly to the transverse perineal ligament, which forms the anterior border of the urogenital diaphragm. The posterior extent of this pouch is the posterior border of the urogenital diaphragm. The deep perineal pouch contains the muscles of the urogenital diaphragm, membranous part of the urethra, bulbourethral glands, and vessels and nerves. Links and References:
