Next, the peritoneum covers the fundus of the uterus, the posterior surface of the body of the uterus, and extends downward onto the cervix and onto the posterior fornix
of the vagina.

Identify the fold of the peritoneum on either side of the uterus, called the broad ligament [on the right side] [on the left side]. It extends from the lateral border, on either side of the uterus, to the floor and lateral walls of the pelvis.
