1) The musculocutaneous nerve arises from the lateral cord of the brachial plexus and pierces the coracobrachialis muscle.
2) The median nerve has two roots. The lateral root of the median nerve arises from the lateral cord of the brachial plexus. The medial root of the median nerve arises from the medial cord of the brachial plexus.3) The ulnar nerve arises from the medial cord of the brachial plexus (Figure 5.3).
