Finally, examine the posterior wall of the axilla. Identify the subscapularis muscle. It arises from the subscapular fossa on the anterior aspect of the scapula and attaches to the lesser tubercle of the humerus. Again identify the upper and lower subscapular nerves that innervate the subscapularis muscle. The lower part of the posterior wall is formed by the teres major muscle and the tendon and upper border of the latissimus dorsi muscle. Links and References:
