Step 7. Median Nerve in the Arm

Identify the median nerve [two probes] and trace its course from the axilla to the cubital fossa. Throughout its course in the arm, the median nerve lies adjacent to the brachial artery. The median nerve does not innervate any muscle in the arm.

In the previous laboratory, the median nerve was identified as a terminal branch of the brachial plexus. It is formed by the joining of the medial root of the median nerve from the medial cord of the brachial plexus and lateral root of the median nerve from the lateral cord.
