Initially in this laboratory exercise, the boundaries and contents of the cubital fossa, a triangular shaped depression that lies anterior to the elbow joint, will be considered.

• base - an imaginary line between the medial and lateral epicondyles of the humerus
• medial border - pronator teres muscle
• lateral border - brachioradialis muscle
• floor - brachialis muscle and tendon of biceps brachii muscle
