  • medial sural nerve (a branch of the tibial nerve) located on the medial aspect of the leg
  • lateral sural nerve (a branch of the common peroneal nerve) located on the lateral aspect of the leg
  • sural nerve formed by the joining of the communicating branch of the lateral sural nerve with the medial sural nerve. Distal to the junction of the communicating branch, the name of the medial sural nerve changes to the sural nerve.
