Identify the facial artery and facial vein as these vessels cross the inferior border of the mandible pass onto the superficial face (Figure 23.4 and Figure 23.5). Identify the superior and inferior labial arteries and the angular artery [upper probe], the terminal branch of the facial artery. Although time may not permit specific identification of all the blood vessels realize that the vessels accompany most of the branches of the trigeminal nerve.
