(1 of 2) Examine the maxillary artery [cross-section] (Figure 27.4). The artery is divided anatomically into three parts.
Branches from the first part of the maxillary artery [forceps] primarily pass into foraminae. Identify the following major branches of the first part of the maxillary artery: the inferior alveolar artery passes into the mandibular foramen and the middle meningeal artery passes into the foramen spinosum.
