As the ophthalmic division (V1) of the trigeminal nerve enters the orbit via the superior orbital fissure, it divides into three branches: the frontal nerve, the nasociliary nerve, and the lacrimal nerve. The supratrochlear nerve and the supraorbital nerve are branches of the frontal nerve.
