(1 of 2) Identify the following structures of the hemisected eyeball (Figure 29.5):
- cornea is the transparent layer over anterior one-sixth of the eye.
- sclera is the fibrous opaque covering over the posterior five-sixths of the eye.
- anterior chamber of the eye is the space between the cornea and the iris and pupil.
- iris is the diaphragm which controls the size of the pupil.
- margin of the pupil is the opening which allows light to pass through the lens.
- posterior chamber of the eye is the space between the iris, lens and ciliary body.
- ciliary body contains smooth muscles which control the shape of the lens (accommodation of the lens).
