The area beneath each turbinate is termed a meatus, thus, the space beneath the inferior turbinate is the inferior meatus [different specimen].

Cut and remove the inferior nasal turbinate to view the inferior meatus . The nasolacrimal duct [different specimen ] [different specimen ] from the lacrimal sac opens into the inferior meatus (Figure 33.4).
