(1 of 2) Finally, detach the transversus abdominis muscle from the underlying transversalis fascia in a similar manner to the previously dissected muscles, and reflect it medially and inferiorly.
Confirm that the most inferior part of the aponeurosis of the transversus abdominis muscle passes anterior to the rectus sheath to inserts directly into the pecten of the pubis. This portion of the aponeurosis joins the lowermost fibers of the aponeurosis of the internal abdominal oblique muscle and collectively is called the falx inguinalis or conjoint tendon [indicated by the lower probe].
