Lift the left lobe of the liver superiorly to identify the lesser omentum [indicated by the probe]. This peritoneal reflection extends from the abdominal part of the esophagus, lesser curvature of the stomach and first part of the duodenum to the porta hepatis on the inferior (visceral) surface of the liver. The lesser omentum is actually a combination of three peritoneal ligaments:These three ligaments form a part of anterior wall of the lesser peritoneal sac (Figure 37.4). Links and References: |
