Make an incision through the wall of the stomach along the entire length of the greater curvature. Retract the anterior wall of the stomach and remove any food content. Mucosal folds, called rugae, project into the lumen of the stomach. Rugae are usually more numerous in the pyloric antrum than in the fundus.Links and References:
