(2 of 2) With the liver removed, identify the bare area of the liver. This region of the liver is in direct contact with the diaphragm. It is not covered by peritoneum and is surrounded by the coronary ligament of the liver (Figure 38.4A). The coronary ligament of the liver has four parts, the hepatophrenic ligament, hepatorenal ligament, right triangular ligament, and left triangular ligament.
On the inner surface of the inferior vena cava, identify the opening of the hepatic veins, which drain blood from the liver.Links and References:
