Identify the major openings of the diaphragm:
- The hiatus of the inferior vena cava is located in the tendinous portion of the diaphragm at the level of the T8 vertebra.
- The esophagal hiatus is located in the muscular portion of the diaphragm at the level of the T10 vertebra.
- The aortic hiatus is located posterior to the median arcuate ligament of the diaphragm at the level of the T12 vertebra.
