The abdominal aorta begins at the aortic hiatus of the diaphragm and ends inferiorly by dividing into the right common iliac artery and the left common iliac artery at the level of L4. Clean the anterior surface of the abdominal aorta and identify the nerves that surround it. These autonomic nerves are called the paraaortic nerve plexus. The nerves extend from this plexus and surround the arteries that arise from the aorta. These secondary nerve plexi are given the name of the artery with which they are associated.Links and References: |
