The broad ligament has several folds on its surface that indicate the position of structures which are enclosed in the parametrium. Identify the superior free border of the broad ligament, occupied by the oviduct (also called the Fallopian tube or the uterine tube) [left side] [right side].Identify the lateral extension of the broad ligament that attaches into the lateral pelvic wall. The superiolateral termination of the broad ligament is the suspensory ligament of the ovary, which runs from the ovary to the lateral pelvic wall. It conveys the ovarian artery, ovarian vein, lymphatic vessels and nerve plexuses to oviduct and ovary. Links and References: |
