(1 of 2) Identify the oviduct [left side] [right side], which is a thin tube, 9 to 10 cm. long, occupying the superior free border of the broad ligament. The oviduct is divided into four segments:
- infundibulum, the funnel-shaped distal end of the oviduct
- ampulla, indicated by the probe, the longest, most convoluted and widest part of the oviduct
- isthmus, the narrowest, shortest part of the oviduct
- intramural segment, which pierces the uterine wall and connects the lumen of the oviduct with the uterine cavity.
