. Cut the soft tissues of the pelvis and perineum with a knife or scalpel and extend the incisions through the sacrum and lumbar vertebra with a saw . Upon completion of the hemisection, identify the major organs. These organs from anterior to posterior are (Figure 44.2):
- urinary bladder which is located immediately posterior to the pubic symphysis and the urethra
- prostate gland
- rectum
- anal canal
