Rationale: When there is more than one fetus, anteparturn, intraparturn, and postpartum management must be modified in order to optimize outcome for the mother and fetuses.
The student will be able to describe:
- Etiology of monozygotic, dizygotIc and multizygotic gestation
- Altered physiologic state with multifetal gestation
- Symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic methods
- Approach to anteparturn, intraparturn, and postpartum management
