15. Celiac arteriogram, AP projection

The catheter is in the abdominal aorta (via the same approach used for the abdominal aortogram, see Image #13), but now the tip is at the origin of the celiac trunk. After the injection of contrast this trunk is well visualized, as are its three terminal branches: the left gastric, splenic and common hepatic arteries. The branches of these arteries, many of which are visualized here, supply the distal esophagus, stomach, proximal duodenum, liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, pancreas, and spleen.
