16. Superior mesenteric arteriogram, AP projection

Now the tip of the catheter is at the origin of the superior mesenteric artery (SMA), whose branches are visualized after injection. They supply the part of the GI tract derived from the midgut: distal duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum, (vermiform) appendix, ascending and transverse colon.
