17. Maxillary sinus CT, coronal plane
The plane of the image is through the posterior orbits which taper to an apex.
As in Image #15 the relationship between the floor
of the orbit and the roof of the maxillary sinus is well demonstrated, as is
the contiguity of the roots of the upper jaw teeth and the floor of the maxillary
sinus. The nasal cavity is divided into right and left halves by the
nasal septum. The superior, middle and inferior nasal conchae
project off the lateral walls of the nasal cavity.
