13. Ankle radiograph, lateral projection

In this view the articular surface of the distal tibia is concave and the articular surface of the superior aspect of the talus is convex. The intervening joint space has a uniform width (as it does on the AP projection of the ankle, Image #12). The medial and lateral malleoli project over each other, with the lateral malleolus extending a little more inferiorly.
