16. Arteriogram — pelvis and proximal thigh

The femoral artery is the continuation of the external iliac artery below the inguinal ligament. In the proximal thigh it is superficial and lies between the femoral vein medially and the femoral nerve laterally. Its main branch is the profunda femoris artery.
