17. Arteriogram — knee

The femoral artery pierces the adductor magnus muscle 10 cm. proximal to the knee joint to enter the popliteal fossa. The popliteal artery is the continuation of the femoral artery beyond the adductor magnus muscle. It traverses the popliteal fossa deep to the popliteal vein, and divides into the anterior and posterior tibial arteries, its terminal branches.
