9. Knee MRI, sagittal planeTha plane of imaging is just medial to the knee midline. The course of the posterior cruciate ligament is well seen, from the lateral surface of the medial femoral condyle to the posterior intercondylar area of the tibia. Note the stripe of high intensity signal between the quadriceps femoris tendon and the distal femur. This is the suprapatellar fat pad, into which the suprapatellar bursa (not visualized on this image) protrudes (see Image #7). |
