4. Male pelvis CT#1, axial plane

The plane of imaging is through the fourth sacral segment and the superior aspect of the acetabula. The patient received both oral and intravenous contrast prior to scanning to opacify the lumens of both the GI and the urinary tracts.

The external iliac arteries and veins are seen lying on the iliopsoas muscles. The seminal vesicles are well visualized between the urinary bladder and rectum. On the slice image immediately cranial to this one, the ureters entered the bladder and the vasa deferentia joined the seminal vesicles.
