8. Male pelvis MRI #3, coronal plane

The plane of imaging is through the anterior urinary bladder, prostate, and the root of the penis. The root of the penis, the attached part, consists of the crura, bulb, and the ischiocavernosus and bulbospongiosus muscles, all of which are visualized here. The crura converge anteriorly to become continuous with the corpora cavernosa. The bulb, which is the proximal enlargement of the corpus spongiosum, is entered superiorly by the urethra.
