18. Venogram — forearm
The forearm is pronated in this view. Most of the venous drainage of the upper
limb is via a superficial network of veins which unite to form the basilic and
cepahlic veins. The cephalic vein ascends the anterolateral border of
the forearm and runs along the lateral border of the biceps in the arm. The
basilic vein ascends on the posterior surface of the medial forearm and
below the elbow it courses anteriorly to reach the cubital fossa. It ascends
the arm medial to the biceps. The median cubital vein connects the cephalic
to the basilic vein.
