The brachial veins (the venae comitantes to the brachial artery) are joined by the basilic vein (not opacified on this study) at the lower border of the teres major to form the axillary vein, which ascends medial to the axillary artery. The cephalic vein joins it after piercing the clavipectoral fascia. The axillary vein becomes the subclavian vein at the outer border of the first rib. |
